apocalypse

Picture
i am tempted to move quickly
align with panic
get swept up in the fear hurricane

i am prone to jumping
without a moment of forethought
i am drawn forward
by a pressure i desire to relieve
with my own manic contributions

even my desire to help in crisis
can be ill timed

why?

because this urgency
this panic
the pressure
makes us believe
we have to act with agency
without understanding
as we have done for so many centuries

breathe for a moment
ask yourself how different your movements
would be if you believed
in your timelessness

that this one lifetime wasn’t the beginning
or the end of it

sit silently in your timeless nature
before making a move

in the moment of crisis
offer what you can for the immediate relief of others
but slow down in the action steps that burrow to the root cause of the destruction
be aware of the misalignment within you
that reveals itself in rampant fires, sickness and greed.

this moment is perfection on the move
never started
never finished
just an ongoing
eternal
revelation

Apocalypse in Greek means:
an unveiling or unfolding of things not previously known and which could not be known apart from the unveiling

we don’t know enough to be afraid
even climate change
is an unknown state of affairs
maybe caused by us
maybe a cycle that arrives despite our efforts

the truth of the matter
is still revealing itself
but we can be sure of pollution
our contribution
and the degradation
that has ensued
in our own bodies

a necessary collective learning curve
that i have no anger at
for the child that destroys the walls and carpet of their room
is a wild one learning
as we collectively are doing

forgiveness comes
at the end of my tongue
after i have spoken against
all the affairs of the corporations and governments
only to find the seeds of destruction
resting in my own hands

and i finally wake up
into that timeless realm
where slowing down
becomes speeding up
and i begin to rest
in the glorious unfolding
that knows no end
